He's been very nervous behind cage bars. Cage reactive dogs are the hardest to get to know and Elmo is one of them.  He is finally allowing staff to handle him and letting us see he can be a friendly playful boy.  In fact, he didn't seem to know how to chase a tennis ball! When he finally figured it out, it was super cute, but you had to be careful bc he didn't want you to take it away from him.  He might have some resource guarding of toys and possibly food,so management of this will be important when it comes to a successful adoption.  Elmo is a big big boy who pulls pretty hard on the leash, esp when squirrels or other critters are involved. lol We don't know much else about this stately grey blockhead boy but we will update when we learn more. He is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask! VBACAC – 341 S Birdneck Road, VB Open daily 12-5 pm
