See 2504-0977 RJ’s HomepageGo to our official websiteRJ – 9 1/2 years old, 50 pounds, house trained, slow intros to other dogs RJ was surrendered to us at VBACAC when his owner could no longer care for him. He’s been quiet, sweet and gentle upon his arrival but he’s definitely nervous with all the new going on around him. He startles easily right now but with patience and time he will settle in. RJ knows basic commands and loves toys, water and going to the beach. He enjoys sleeping with his humans and also in his own dog bed. He’s not a big fan of being handled, lifted into a car and he’s scared of the vacuum. RJ has a history of seizures which were told had usually only occurred in hot weather. He is on medication that helps regulate this. RJ is protective over his food and toys and should be fed away from other animals. RJ has lived with other dogs (& chickens & rabbits!) but it takes a lot of time for him to get comfortable with them. Slow intros and constant supervision are important. Because of this boy's medical and age, we do feel he'd enjoy being in an adult only home as the only pet. RJ is currently in our small dog adoption kennel in a special area so come on in to meet him!
