About Adelaide 4 years year old Female Dog Social skills: Good with dogs Comments: She has met other dogs and has done good! She seems to really like other dogs but has not been able to fully played with them due to being on activity restrictions. I can report back later on her playstyle once sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s able to play with our pups! She has not met kids but sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s very friendly with every person sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s met and sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s quite gentle so I think would be fine! NOT GOOD with cats Training Skills: Leash trained, Crate trained, Potty trained/litter box trained History and background: She is was found as a stray by another volunteer in Dallas. She is so friendly and ran right up to her and jumped in the car. The volunteer quickly noticed that Adelaide was not putting weight on one of her front legs. They did X-rays and confirmed it was broken. Additionally, she was heartworm positive and not spayed. We fell in love with her through the volunteers photos and videos. She is such a sweet deserving girl who has already been through so much in her first 4 years of life! Activity level: Moderate Energy – needs some daily activity but also likes down time Comments: She has been on activity restrictions for awhile but has done well! She enjoys light walks around the backyard. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m sure she would love more/longer walks but we havenâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t been able to do that while sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s healing. She loves enrichment but I donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t think itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a requirement for her. She loves to cuddle and be loved on. Play behavior: I will report back later on this! Besides playing with other pets, she has shown very little interest in toys. The squeaky noise intrigues her and she will tilt her head so hard when you squeak a toy! She has really only shown interest in a stuffed animal toy once and basically she just wanted to chew on it lol. I suspect she will be much more playful with other dogs. Love language: Professional human cuddler *Very snuggly Favorite treats and toys: She is very food motivated! She will eat pretty much anything. She knows sit. Routine and ideal home: It is very clear that Adelaide lived in a home before. She is potty trained, â&#194&#128&#194&#156crateâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 (we use a pen) trained, and walks on a leash. Like any dog, she would thrive with structure and routine. She loves people and would likely love a home with multiple people to cuddle with and follow around. She does seem to have some reactivity towards other dogs (getting overly excited and wanting to play, not aggressive!) so might need some work on that. Best characteristics: She is so resilient! She had a fracture repair to fix the broken leg and unfortunately it did not work for her and so we went the amputation route. She has been a tripawd for 1 week now and is doing amazing! So much has changed for her over the last month and she truly just seems grateful for the love (and food) we give her. Descriptive adjectives: Affectionate, gentle, goofy Additional info: I have a pet that would be a good transport candidate (easily handled by strangers, no crate anxiety issues, etc.)
