There is no more of a social butterfly on the planet than our boy Ajax. Attention and affection are his life support, and he would not have it any other way. Ajax comes into rescue under unfortunate circumstances. His owner underwent a big surgery but provided Ajax with people to care for him until his return. The visiting people were not filling a void for Ajax, and he was found sprinting out of the electric fence in search of human attention. Ajax was looking for love. His owner decided that even after surgery, he could not be there for Ajax like he once was. The hard decision was made to relinquish ownership to give Ajax a life he deserves. We believe that when a door closes, a window opens. That window is a new beginning for Ajax. Ajax is a 4-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, and he weighs 65 pounds. He is a big boy with a matching big heart. With his friendly disposition, Ajax is no stranger to making friends. He does well in the company of other dogs and children. He has not met a cat since coming into rescue so it is not known how he would react to a feline companion. He is a happy and playful boy that will do well in most family dynamics. He will certainly thrive with lots of companionship and attention. He is so sweet, he is hard to resist and who would want too? There have been changes to his life and Ajax is looking to set his goals on being a great house dog. With determination, he is focused on learning his house, crate and leash training. Ajax wants to be everything and more to his forever family. He knows the right family will shower him with excess of love and affection. He will never know another day without either. If Ajax sounds like your next best friend, apply to adopt him today. * Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Ajax is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
