This is what she says about him: “I finally feel like Alvin "Hip!" is at the point that he can look for his forever home. I will be very particular about placement! Hip! is a gorgeous, approximately 7 month old bully mix. Probably 50 + lbs atm. Pros: *Very playful and energetic when comfortable *Silly *Loves physical play & affection *Dog social – in fact having playful and confident dogs around will bring him out of his shell faster *Crate trained *Leash trained Cons: *Not a go anywhere do anything dog *Very shy of new people and places *Can become dog intolerant in specific situations *Will bully dogs that lack confidence/allow him to *Will not do well in a human busy environment – does just fine in multi dog chaos though lol I adore this guy and have no problem letting him stay here but if there is a perfect placement for him I want to see that possibly through ” Located at K9 Adventure Camp in Central Virginia. 12/15/25: Foster mom: Meet Hip! One of my current foster puppies from Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. Hip! He appears to be a 6 to 7 month old XL bully puppy. Terrified of life but steadily coming out of his shell. He came with a pretty concerning limp so I didn't want to post about him until we knew what was going on. Turns out this 37 lb chonk (no he's not overweight!) has Panosteitis, long bone pain which can be a common problem in large breed pups. The good news is that he should grow out of it with proper nutrition, continued rest and pain meds. It can have flare ups but I'll know what the cause is now. (When their family was not able to find homes, three babies were signed over to the animal control facility this week. We are happy they were able to go into a foster home immediately) PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA.
