This beautiful girl headed north and arrived in her New Jersey foster home on 1/10, where she has already started to blossom. At just about 40–42 pounds and around 1 year old, Alyssa is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. Life in the shelter was overwhelming for Alyssa. Loud noises and constant activity left her shy, scared, and unsure — but behind her soft eyes is a trusting, loving soul who truly wants to connect. With each passing day in foster care, Alyssa is gaining confidence: she happily takes treats, leans in for gentle pets, and is learning that people can be kind. Alyssa is especially comforted by other dogs and does wonderfully with canine companions. Once she feels safe, she loves to cuddle on the couch and be part of the family. She’s not a dog who needs a yard or a fence — just a calm, patient home where she can continue to grow at her own pace. Alyssa at a glance: About 1 year old, ~40–42 lbs Spayed Housebroken & crate trained Walks beautifully on a leash Loves other dogs and gains confidence from them Best in a home without small children, as sudden noises and movements can frighten her Shy at first, but incredibly loving once she feels safe The ideal family for Alyssa will be patient, kind, and understanding — ready to show her that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. In return, Alyssa will reward you with quiet companionship, gentle affection, and a bond that grows deeper every day. If you’re looking for a truly special girl who just needs a second chance to shine, Alyssa may be the one you’ve been waiting for. Alyssa is fixed and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wag-on-inn.com.
