Key Characteristics: • Maltese poodle mix, 8 years old, male, approx 6kg • Gentle, quiet, sweet personality  • Good with dogs • Pee pad trained and will also go outside    Ari's details:   • Ari was surrendered to a shelter when his family could no longer take care of him.    • Ari enjoys company but is also fine to snooze in his favourite chair if you’re busy.    • Ari was previously fed people-food so needs patience to transition to dog food.    • He is a good passenger in the car.    • He enjoys going out for walks but will sometimes prefer to ride in the stroller with our senior dog until he’s ready to stroll. He is learning how to walk well on a leash (can pull a little).    • When meeting new (small) dogs on walks, he is kind and sometimes nervous.    • Ari prefers to use a pee pad but will also potty outside. He is starting to indicate when he wants to go outside.    • Ari barks when strangers enter the house but settles when he knows they aren’t intruders.    • He has no mobility issues but doesn’t know how to go down a flight of stairs yet (presumably a condo dog previously). He can go up without assistance, and will paw at the top of stairs when he wants a carry down.    • While Ari is sweet to all people in the house, he really loves his foster dad and cuddles him on the couch, and sleeps in bed with him at night.    • Ari is fine with our resident dogs and while he mostly ignores them, he has shown an interest in our senior Maltese and sometimes tries to hug him.   • He can resource guard food.    • Ari has little moments of playfulness when encouraged, and he gets adorable zoomies in the house after his walks.    Ari is an absolute sweetheart!! He is a quiet house member. He is adjusting to his new foster home and we think his personality and confidence will truly blossom with time, love and patience .
