Atlas has been through quite a journey over the past few months, but he’s come out the other side stronger and more resilient than ever. After having one of his eyes removed in October, Atlas has made an excellent recovery and is adjusting beautifully to his new normal. Atlas is a gentle, thoughtful guy who takes his time in new environments. He does best with a patient, understanding family who will let him settle in and approach on his own schedule. Once he feels safe and comfortable, Atlas shows his affectionate side—he loves head and chin scratches and is happiest hanging out nearby, quietly supervising whatever you’re doing. He doesn’t mind the company of other cats, especially confident, relaxed feline friends, as he tends to feed off their calm energy. Due to his vision changes, fast or sudden movements can be scary for him, so Atlas would thrive in a home without small children. He’s also not a fan of being picked up and prefers relationships built on trust and choice. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key companion who will reward your patience with quiet affection and loyal companionship, Atlas may be the perfect match.This kitty was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.
