Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.I go beyond labels!AVERY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:   Avery      Best Guess for Breed:   Labrador Retriever/Terrier Mix  Best Guess for Age:   3 years 10 months as of February 2025 SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  49 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven’t seen her with cats or kids, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Special Adoption Considerations:   Because Avery is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing Avery in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home.   Avery is Looking For:   A loving family who’ll cherish my affectionate nature and appreciate my zest for life. I promise to be your loyal companion, always ready to bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.  I look forward to plenty of walks and playtime with my new family!  I can’t wait to meet my forever family and start making wonderful memories together. Will you be the one to give me the loving home I’ve been dreaming of? What My Foster Says About Me:  Avery is incredibly sweet! She’s very friendly and smart. She loves to play with other dogs and is incredibly happy meeting new people. She does respond to some commands and does great in her crate. Her energy level is very manageable, where she loves to play but isn’t over energetic. When she’s done playing she loves to come cuddle up next to me for a nap. She’s an easy going and happy dog and a joy to have around.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
