Meet Banyan (aka Mama)  If love could take the shape of a dog, it would be Banyan. Known affectionately as “Mama,” Banyan has spent so much of her life caring for everyone else. After having two litters of puppies in a single year, she was found living in the woods in Western MA with her four-month-old puppies, only to give birth to another litter shortly after arriving at animal control.  Through it all, she never stopped being an incredible, devoted mama. Now, it’s finally her turn to be cared for. Banyan is an absolute treasure—a gentle, loyal, affectionate girl whose favorite place in the world is right beside people. She doesn’t just enjoy attention… she indeed deserves it. If someone else is getting pets, don’t be surprised when Banyan happily barges her way into the middle. She simply wants her fair share of love, and honestly, after everything she’s been through, we think she’s earned it. She’s wonderful on leash, loves car rides, and is always happy to tag along for an adventure before coming home for a cuddle on the couch. Banyan has never met a person she hasn’t liked—you can easily take away her food or toys, and she’s nothing but gentle. After raising so many babies, Banyan is finally ready to retire from motherhood and enjoy the life she’s always deserved: a soft bed, a family who adores her, and all the love she’s spent a lifetime giving to everyone else. She’s done enough taking care of everyone else.
