Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. Beau is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Beau had a MAJOR dental on 7/9/24, losing 8 teeth. His mouth feels much better now. Weight: 16 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No, but a fence is a great safety feature for any dog. Beau is a flight risk if he is off a leash and will run. What kind of home would be best for me? Beau is Mr. Happy Go Lucky, the life of any party. Having said that he's not high energy and doesn't need a lot of exercise. He's a laid-back kind of guy. What he needs is a ton of your attention. When you love on him, he will return it with numerous kisses. Beau will blend seamlessly into either an apartment or house. He will also fit right into your life whether you are single, a couple, or a family. If Beau goes to a family, he'd prefer to be with one that has older kids, aged 10 and up. He prefers his adopter to be home more than they're away because he has a lot to learn. Beau would actually be ideal for a retiree who can let him out in the fenced in back yard to exercise and do his business, then come sit on the couch with you.  Beau would love to have his brother Milo go with him to his new home, but it's not a requirement.  What is my personality like? Beau and his best buddy Milo were the beloved companions of elderly twin sisters. Sadly, one is battling cognitive impairment and the other cancer. Caring neighbors helped them find a rescue. Beau arrived in rescue in need of medical care. It was clear that though incredibly well loved, his owners hadn't been able to do much for him over the past few years. He is overweight and under-exercised. But happy as a clam! Beau loves everybody be they another dog, cat, or person. He's Mr. Happy Go Lucky. This little guy is a love bug who puts a smile on the faces of everyone he meets. If you adopt Beau, he'll light up your life in a heartbeat. He's a fantastic pup and we don't expect him to be with us for long. How do I act when I first meet new people? Hi! How are you? Don't you want to pet me and give me some treats – that's Beau. He loves everyone. Other tips and tidbits: Beau's birthday is 09/08/2012. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you – poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
