Hi there! I’m Benjamin!  I was found in the middle of a busy intersection asking for help but nobody stopped…until Adopt A Pit. If all those people who drove by would have listened they would have heard me say that I love my people so much and all I want to do is sit by their side and watch the world go by. As a Pit/Dane mix I’m a bit of a “sleepy pony,” but not so much that I can’t hang with the active folk! I love to go for a walk and am trained to wear a figure-8 leash around my muzzle for easy handling. I am quiet and polite on car rides and I play and romp with my fosters’ other four dogs!  I need a pretty big crate as a 53lb Pitt/Dane puppy…but the good news is I am great in the crate. I eat my breakfast and dinner there and I sleep there at night. When it’s just us dogs at home I head to the crate then too – I’m very food motivated so one small treat leads me in and I don’t take long to settle. I’ve been told I’m quite trainable – the treats help, but I’m also very tuned in to my handler’s energy and requests. I follow mild corrections during walks and backyard playtime with ease because I’m eager to please. I’ve been working on my skills since that day I was in the intersection and I feel confident that I’m going to grow up to become a “go anywhere dog.” I think I have what it takes – I’m very sweet, I love attention and affection, I’m well behaved, and I very much want a person or a family of my own to love and be loved by. I dig this part-time Adopt A Pit gig but I’m really more of a full-time kind of pup and when you meet me you’ll see why! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.
