Age: approx 7 years old Weight: 11 lbs My adoption fee is $ 450 which includes transportation charges to the Northeast. Hi! My name is Benji, and I am an 11lb terrier mix but 100% adorable! I am about 6 or 7 years old, but I am full of youthful love and energy. My foster mom says I am a truly awesome dog. I am very curious, playful, and happy. I absolutely love it when my people are home, though I manage just fine when I am home alone for a few hours too. I am always super excited to go on walks, and I have done very well walking on a leash and going potty outside. In fact, I haven't had a single accident since being with my foster mom! I am always happy to say hi to other humans in the wild, and I love to give them a little sniff in exchange for pets! My experience with other dogs has been 50/50. Sometimes I like to say hi, especially with other small dogs, but other times it's best if I keep on walking. I would likely do best as a solo pet, but there's a chance I could be okay with the right dog sibling! I would love a fenced in backyard to play in, but I may be okay in a home without a yard if I get enough time outside during walks! When I am not taking on the town during walks, I like to play with my toys and chill on the couch. I am quite good at hanging out! Thankfully, I have never been destructive with household items because I know that my humans would not appreciate that. I am also very respectful of my human's food and have never tried to steal any, though I am always thrilled when I get a bit of something dog-friendly. At night I sleep in a crate because in my former life I had some trouble with guarding the human bed I slept in. Now that I am adjusted, I do well in my crate filled with blankets and a nice dog bed. Before I go, there's a few other things you should know about me. I am great in the car for both short rides and longer ones, and I have been amazingly patient and calm during bath time. I am still working on commands like sit, stay, and come, but I think I could learn with some training. Thanks for taking the time to read about me! I CAN'T WAIT to find my furever home! Nick was treated for heartworm and is now negative If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website: https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/
