LOCATION: Oak Grove, KYDOB: 01/07/2023Meet Big Boy, a gentle giant with a heart as big as his name! This 2-3-year-old Great Dane x Great Pyrenees mix is as sweet and laid-back as they come. He’s been through a lot in his life, but he’s settling in with his foster and starting to show his charming personality.Big Boy is a dog’s dog—he loves canine companions and is a natural at making furry friends. He’s also great with kids and enjoys their company, though he’s a little shy around men at first. But don’t worry, he warms up quickly with a little patience and kindness. Rope toys make him a bit uneasy (understandable given his past), but hand him a ball, and you’ll see his playful side shine.This handsome boy has a unique brindle patch on his butt that makes him even more special. He’s the definition of relaxed, often found soaking up the sun during his outdoor time. He’s working on leash manners, which isn’t his favorite thing due to his previous experience with an embedded collar or rope, but he’s eager to learn with gentle encouragement and a harness.Big Boy is also impressively polite—call him to come, and he listens right away. If he’s barking, a simple “no” gets him to stop and lie down. He’s shown he can be sweet and calm with strangers, charming even the sewer workers who visited the shelter.Big Boy is also great with cats. We know he’s a lovebug who’s ready to keep growing and thriving in a patient, caring home.
