She came to us with another budgie named Strawberry, who was having serious health complications and unfortunately passed away. Because of this, we think Blueberry would do well in a house with other birds with whom she can chat back and forth. After her friend passed, Blueberry was very quiet, but she has slowly been opening up and will now occasionally chirp throughout the day. She enjoys out-of-cage time but does require supervision as she’s not the best flyer. Blueberry is a very sweet girl and not skittish around people, but she is not hand-tame and prefers to enjoy your company from a distance.  Blueberry is currently on an all-seed diet, so we are slowly trying to introduce her to fresh fruits and vegetables, but she doesn’t seem very interested so far. Her owner mentioned that she likes white rice as an occasional treat. Blueberry is being fostered in Bloomfield, NJ She will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance. We will NOT ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA –  We do not have a central location.  Blueberry is living in a volunteer’s private home; we only allow approved applicants to make visits.
