Hi, I’m Brutus! I’m a curious, clever bun with a big personality and a clear sense of what I like—and what I don’t. I absolutely love my salad greens and a daily chunk of banana. (If you’re late, don’t worry—I’ll thump loudly to remind you!) My favorite things include my cardboard hidey house, the freedom to roam, and cozy spots under the bed for naps. I enjoy being part of the household without needing constant attention—I’ll happily come up to my foster parents in my x-pen for head pets but I’m also content doing my own thing. Free-roam life is totally my vibe. I love exploring, being bold and nosy, then returning to my x-pen when I feel like it—no chasing required. I have just the right amount of energy: not hyper, but always curious. You’ll find me rearranging my space (especially boxes), digging a little at the wood floor, and customizing my cardboard hidey house—yes, I chewed myself a new exit before my foster parents could make one! I like to rub my face on new things and investigate everything like a true bunny detective. I’m picky about toys—apple sticks? No thanks. But I do enjoy timothy hay chew toys and, of course, anything involving food. I prefer Science Selective Adult pellets over Oxbow, and while I eat more endless supply of timothy hay like a good bun should, food is definitely the way to my heart. I have excellent litter box habits and use a big litter box to match my big personality. I’ve been around my foster’s two huge dogs, and I don’t mind them one bit—they’re calm and bunny-savvy. I’ve also met kids (while I was in my carrier), and they gave me gentle head pets, which I handled like a pro. I haven’t met any cats, so who knows there? When it comes to bonding, I seem to have a dominant streak, so if I were to have a bunny buddy, it would need to be the perfect match—but honestly, I’m pretty happy soaking up all the love for myself. As a lop, my ears need a little extra attention: keep an eye out for scratching, redness, swelling, or signs of infection, and give them a clean when needed. Grooming is simple—just a weekly brush, or more often when I’m molting. I don’t chew cords (but you should still bunny-proof, just in case), and while I might dig or do some cardboard demolition, I’m not destructive to the house itself. If you’re looking for a confident, food-loving, independent bun who will add a dash of attitude and a whole lot of charm to your home, look no further; I might just be your perfect match. *RRMN requires all children be 10+ years old for first time bunny owners and 8+ for those with previous bunny experience.  All applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.*  If you're interested, please fill out an adoption application at: http://www.rabbitrescueofmn.com. Gender: Male Approximate birthdate: 2/08/2023 Approximate weight: 7.6 pounds Adoption fee: $100.00 (+tax) RRMN bunnies are all vetted, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated. All bunnies are fostered in private homes where they are socialized and ready to become indoor companion house pets. RRMN is a non-profit rescue group operated 100% by volunteers, and 100% of donations/adoption fees go to the direct care of our animals. Due to their very special behavioral needs, we do not advocate for our rescue rabbits to serve as Emotional Support Animals (ESAs).  We are unable to provide any documentation or certification for an ESA.      If you have any questions or are interested in meeting or adopting this bunny, the first step is to complete an adoption application found on our website:  http://www.rabbitrescueofmn.com.  For the safety of our rescue bunnies, our protocol requires a home-visit before placement.  Therefore, we are unable to facilitate adoptions that exceed an hour and a half of travel time from the Twin Cities area.
