Meet Caitlin – our one-in-a-million puppy.   Sweet Caitlin is a happy, playful little girl who loves wrestling with her siblings and exploring the world around her. Watching her play, you would never guess that Caitlin is completely blind.   Caitlin was born with an extremely rare congenital condition — she was born without an optic nerve, meaning there is no connection between her eyes and her brain. It’s so rare that when she visited Eye Care for Animals, the entire staff came in to see this extraordinary little girl.   The good news is that her eyes themselves are perfectly healthy, and she will not need eye drops or medications. She simply cannot see.   Despite this, Caitlin has adapted beautifully and navigates her world using her incredible senses of smell and hearing. She is smart, confident, playful, and full of love.   Caitlin also has a brother named O’Malley with perfect eyesight, and he absolutely loves her. They play together all the time, and he naturally helps her navigate their little world.
