We haven’t seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:  Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Canela would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Canela is Looking For:  A family to provide long walks and daily adventures etc. A three year old dog is at her best. Out of the crazy puppy stage but still energetic and adventurous. Canela wants to join you on your adventures out about town or on hikes and then will be ready to cuddle up and receive love. What My Foster Says About Me:  Craving something sweet? Skip the cinnamon buns and meet Canela (which means cinnamon in Spanish). She’s guaranteed to add endless sweetness to your life. Canela is a wonderful companion who walks beautifully on a loose leash and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate. She’s already made impressive progress with her potty training in just a few days. We’re also pretty sure she’s fluent in Spanish—but she’s already picked up “Sit” and “Down” in English too! Canela recently went through a big life transition, so she’s still discovering her playful side and what toys she loves. With a little time, patience, and love, her personality continues to blossom every day. Her favorite place in the world is right by your side. She happily follows her person from room to room and is perfectly content to relax next to you while you work or unwind. And if you like affection, you’re in luck—Canela’s favorite thing to do is to give her humans sweet kisses. She’s been friendly with other dogs at the park and greets every human she meets with kindness. At home, she’s the perfect roommate—no chewing, no mischief, just a calm and loving presence. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
