Meet Cairo, a handsome 1½-year-old black and white Border Collie mix with a heart as big as his bright, curious eyes. Weighing in at 27 pounds, Cairo is the perfect medium-sized companion. He is big enough for fun adventures but small enough to fit comfortably into family life. This sweet boy has previously spent time in his southern foster home on a farm, and now he is ready to trade country living for a new loving forever home. Cairo enjoys socializing with adults, kids, and other dogs, although his history with cats is unknown. His friendly nature makes it easy for him to win hearts wherever he goes. He is eager to meet new friends and explore the world alongside his future family.Cairo is still polishing a few of his life skills, and his new family will need to continue helping him practice leash walking. With a little patience, encouragement, and lots of love, Cairo will blossom into an even more confident companion. He would love to join his family on neighborhood strolls or trips to the local park, where he can stretch his legs, enjoy some exercise, and spend quality time with the people he loves. Games of fetch or tug-of-war in the backyard would also make this playful boy very happy. His leash skills are in the works, but he has already mastered his house and crate training. Although he is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. At the end of a fun-filled day, Cairo is more than ready to settle in for some cozy downtime. Whether it is curling up beside his family on the couch or snoozing contently on his own comfy dog bed nearby, he will simply be happy to be close to the people he loves. Cairo is dreaming of a home where he will be cherished for the rest of his life. It will be a place filled with kindness, patience, and plenty of affection.Could Cairo be the missing piece to your family? If you are ready to open your heart and home to this adorable boy, do not wait too long. With his striking good looks, sweet personality, and irresistible puppy charm, Cairo is sure to capture a heart very quickly.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine.
