Get ready to meet the new rockstar in your life! Carla Santana bursts through the scene and into your heart like a rock song from her namesake would. (Smooth by Carlos Santana feat. Rob Thomas, anyone?). Carla is a chonky 5 year old girl weighing in at a whopping 17 pounds. Don't let her size fool you though, she loves to play, often launching around strings and wands in a moment's notice. She'll occasionally chase little pieces of plastic lying around your house. If there's more than one, she'll pick a favorite and ignore the rest. I don't make the rules that's her MO. This sweet girl is a bundle (and we mean it) of joy waiting for love. She's the type of cat that likes to lounge around the couch all day but would gladly cede a little bit of room in exchange for some scratches, belly rubs, and brushes. She loves getting tail scratches when she's loafing as well, which triggers what has been described as "the fastest elevator butt this side of the Delaware". She can be a little slow to settle in at first (what rock star ever found their groove quickly anyway?) but once she does you'll have the sweetest and loudest purring tabby girl ever. (Fun fact: during her initial assessment, PAWS staff couldn't hear her heartbeat well because she was purring too much). It'll require some patience, but the end result is worth it. Just ask her foster! Carla is a firm believer in the concept of being together alone, so she'll follow you to your room just to ignore you, until you decide to stop in your tracks relinquish your attention to her. At night, this cutie will wait for you to be fully tucked into bed before sitting by your bedside, requesting clearance and permission to land by your pillow and spending the night there. The best part? She'll gladly stay in bed as long as you're in it, cuddling until you're ready, so no waking you up for food. Afterwards though be ready for her to kindly but decisively escort you to her empty bowl. This lady hasn't lived with other pets before so it's unknown how she would do with them. As she's timid at first, she would do best in a calm environment to decompress in. She might eventually do well with other laid back cats or dogs that respect her space. She's on a special pre-diabetic diet because of her weigh so PAWS will supply a few months worth of her food to ease her transition. Adopt Carla Santana now and get ready for this absolute unit to love you unconditionally! Age: 5 years How I came to PAWS: Rescue transfer Animal ID#: A179226 I am not at the shelter.
