Critter Details

The Cutest Orange Boy You Will Ever See! Chicken is a sweet little angel with soft purrs and big beautiful eyes. He came to foster care with weakness in his hind legs but he has been getting stronger every single day and his FAVORITE toy is the elusive red dot. He will probably never walk "normally" but, as his foster mama says, normal is for boring people and he is truly perfect! Because of his injury, he will probably always need some extra care for his tummy and his back/legs, but he takes his medications in his food like a champ! He would thrive in a quiet home with another calm kitty or two. Chicken loves being a social butterfly but would prefer a home with older kids or adults only. Chicken has a history of variable weakness and pain in his lower spine and hind legs, the cause of which has not been determined. He experienced significant improvement in comfort and mobility after a period of exercise restriction and steroid treatment, but does have a residual weakness in his hind legs which will likely be permanent. Hard play seems to mildly aggravate the symptoms, and an adopter should discuss with their veterinarian whether any activities should be avoided. Chicken could possibly benefit from a consultation with a veterinary rehabilitation specialist, to discuss whether there are any specific exercises that would be helpful in improving his strength and comfort.
