He’s an affectionate, silly, and smart boy who loves to cuddle and be close to his humans. While he may look like a powerhouse (and he is!), Chulo is also a big goofball (like this video of him rolling in the grass) who’s clumsy in the most endearing way. He knows many obedience commands and is eager to please, but he needs a confident, experienced, and patient owner to help him continue thriving. Chulo has had a rough start in life with inconsistent ownership, and he’s looking for someone who can offer him the structure, compassion, and stability he deserves. Chulo enjoys the company of other dogs, but due to his size and strength, proper introductions and supervision are important. He can sometimes resource guard high-value treats and is working on his leash reactivity, especially when other dogs bark at him or when big trucks pass by. He takes treats gently at first and responds well to guidance and consistency. With the right person by his side, Chulo’s sweet, goofy personality truly shines. He’s loyal, cuddly, and full of love—just waiting for a forever home where he can finally feel safe and understood. If you're looking for a smart, silly, and incredibly good boy to share your life with, Chulo might be your perfect match. Chulo is from a local shelter. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
