This is a Courtesy Posting. This is not a Loved at Last dog. Please do not submit an application with us for this dog. If interested or you would like more info, please contact: Heidi at buech.heidi@gmail.com or (424) 547-5709Greetings. I am Cleopatra, the beautiful and here is some info about me:Breed: Pit bull/ lab mixAge: 3 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 62 poundsCountry of origin: USHighlights: Silly, affectionate, intelligent, eager to please, can be shy at firstAs most of us pittiepotamus are, I am an affectionate girl. I love belly rubs and hanging out on the couch with you.I came in as a stray to a shelter in Calif. I am being fostered through the shelter and can be adopted via a partner rescue with transportation available. You find me a silly girl, who is most intelligent and eager to please. I don't have a terribly high energy level. Enjoying walks and then hanging out is fine by me.Although I can be shy/unsure with new settings, I do warm up quickly with strong and consistent leadership. I am truly a sweet girl.Currently I live in an apartment and go for 3-4 walks a day. 3 walks for potty breaks where I am allowed some sniffing at my foster's discretion, but still using focused leash technique as taught by Cheri Wulff Lucas. 1 walk per day is a fast, longer walk with focused leash training (no stops for sniffs, etc… only focused walking following my foster's pace) and lead exercises. I am learning well.I prefer other large dogs of low to medium energy (with slow and proper introductions.) Not sure how I would do with small dogs. Since I have demonstrated prey drive towards cats while on walks outdoors, probably best to forego small dogs in my new home too, at least for now, until more is learned about my preferences.Since it is unknown about my experience with kids, so teenaged is probably best.Being that I can be shy/unsure with new settings, though I warm up quickly with strong and consistent leadership. Having some separation anxiety when you leave the house, I need someone who is patient and calm and help me feel secure. One thing I love that may help to put into a king toy is PEANUT BUTTER, yum. I also do the cutest happy dance/trot anytime you walk into the room I'm in! I'm just a happy go lucky young lady.My likes are walks, hikes and playing with rope toys and balls for short periods of time. The neighborhood where I am being fostered has a lot of dogs, so I can sometimes be unsure/afraid of them. I do very well when I am being walked on the figure 8 leash method and follow your lead. I am currently working with trainers, but turns out the problem is more with my foster's training ability than with me, LOL.I am ready to start my new adventure in life.Additional vids: https://youtu.be/TPqYCL0A2M8, https://youtu.be/o_q-x5Og6zwEnergy Level: Relatively low energy for a 3 year old dog. I get along with:Dogs: yes. large, lower energy ones, with slow intro.Cats: no.Kids: unknownFears: Can be unsure/afraid of other dogs while walking outdoors. Please bebpatient during my transition.Training:Leash skills: yes. Walks very well using figure 8 leash (Cheri Wulff Lucas method.) Please be ready to continue training.House trained: Yes. Fully. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: No medical issues. Being fed a salmon based diet since us pits can have skin issues. I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. There is a modest rehoming fee of $135.00 USD (approx $170 CAD.) This includes my transportation to the border.Contact Heidi at buech.heidi@gmail.com or (424) 547-5709 for more info or to adopt.
