Name:   Coopa        Best Guess for Breed:   Shepherd and Cattle Dog mix  Best Guess for Age:   3 years as of April 2025        SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   36.2 lbs   Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven’t seen Coopa with cats or kids, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   Texas shelter – Coopa needs a foster or adopter to make her way to the DC area   Coopa is Looking For: Her forever family! She and her puppies Arthur and Charlene landed in a shelter so far south in Texas, it’s only 30 miles from the Mexican border – and the shelter routinely has 1200+ animals in its care. Despite having such an enormous number to care for, shelter staff do an amazing job with all their dogs and Coopa is a great, loving dog and wonderful with other dogs, Unfortunately, there is a massively skewed ratio of available homes to dogs in the area – so her only hope of getting a home is out of state.  Coopa is a sweetheart with a striking black and white coat and adorable pointy ears. She loved her puppies, and now she’s ready to find a forever home where she can be pampered and loved – AND love her new humans! At around 36 lbs, she’s the perfect medium-sized companion—big enough for fun adventures, but small enough to curl up comfortably by your side. Coopa will thrive in a home where she can continue to show her loving nature, whether that’s through cuddles on the couch or joining you on walks. And of course she’s looking for romps in parks and all the adventures she can get – she’s ready to go anywhere by your side! What do you say? Is she the companion you have been seeking? What My Foster Says About Me:  If she manages to get a foster in the DC area, this section can be completed. How about it? Do you want to foster her?
