Name:   Dante         Best Guess for Breed:  Terrier Mix   Best Guess for Age:   1 year          SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:  8.11 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here.Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Dante is Looking For:   Dante is looking for his forever family — one that will give him the patience, love, and encouragement to truly blossom. He’s ready for leisurely sniff-filled walks, cozy naps after a day of adventures, and plenty of time spent simply by your side. A soft bed, tasty treats, and a few squeaky toys would certainly make him happy, but what Dante wants most is a home where he feels safe, understood, and loved. Dante has so much to offer in return: loyal companionship, sweet affection, and the kind of quiet presence that makes a house feel like home. Could you be the person he’s been waiting for? What My Foster Says About Me:    We will update this once he has spent time in foster care.
