Hi there! My name is Daphne and here is some important info about me:    breed: Shih Tzu   Age: 2 years   Gender: female   Height: 25 cm   Weight: 5 kg   highlights: cuddly, playful, quiet, loyal, funnyI’m a teeny, fluffy Shih Tzu pup with a big heart and a whole lot of love to give. I’m just a couple of years old, but I’ve already been through quite a journey. My sister Phoebe and I were left outside a vet clinic in a little basket, all wrapped up in plastic.  https://youtube.com/shorts/3b0nWcgTUXo?si=qn7v2kJliv35GIx-   It was scary—but we were rescued just in time, and now we’re safe, happy, and ready to find our forever homes!  Phoebe and I are super close—we do everything together! We play, nap, cuddle, and even share our toys (most of the time). We’d absolutely love to be adopted together, but we understand that’s not always possible. I’ll be okay on my own too, as long as I get lots of love and attention.  I’m super friendly and gentle—I love kids, other dogs, and pretty much every human I meet. I’ve been told I’m unbelievably cute (blushing under my fur!) and that I’d make the perfect addition to a loving family.  So, if you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and ridiculously adorable pup to fill your home with joy… I’m your girl! Maybe Phoebe can come too?Energy level: moderateGets along with:    Other dogs: yes.  Children: yes   Cats: yesPrey Drive: not observed, however, my adopter needs to be willing to train me should these behaviors ariseFears: none observed, however, I will need patience to get used to my new environment.Training: some.   Leash trained: I walk very well on leash   House trained: I will need a refresher course since I will be coming from the shelterHealth notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped My adoption fee is $800 plus taxesMost passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in – at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 – $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests – which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis.
