Not much is known about how Davey came into this world, but it does not take long to discover what a playful and affectionate cuddle bug he is. He is a 5-month-old hound mix with a brown coat, floppy ears and an adorable white stripe down the center of his face.Davey currently weighs 20 pounds, and it is estimated he will be a medium sized dog (31-60 pounds) when he reaches his adult size. Fun could be his middle name as he seeks playtime and games with children and other dogs. It is not known if Davey enjoys the company of cats.Davey is learning that being a good boy at home means learning his manners, so he is absorbing housetraining, crate training and walking on a lead. Puppy training requires consistent lessons with plenty of positive reinforcement. It is important to remember that rescue dogs may have accidents as they transition to a new home. If crate training is planned, Davey requires a crate that is big enough for him to turn around, stand in and lie down as he grows. Crates need to be warm welcoming places and must never be used for punishment. Davey is a cutie who craves lots of affection and friends so if you can see yourself snuggled up with a sweet fellow, Davey will fit the bill.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Davey is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
