Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs – but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 06/04/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Raleigh Puppy Mill bust Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Delta is up to date on vaccines for her age. Delta is a goldendoodle (her mom Fiona arrived in rescue with her). She is not hypoallergenic and will shed. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANOTHER ACTIVE DOG IN YOUR HOME, PLEASE DESCRIBE IN YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION YOUR PLAN FOR PLAY AND SOCIALIZATION WITH A NEW PUPPY. Weight: 17 lbs and growing – Delta is underweight for a puppy. We estimate she will be between 35-45 lbs when full grown. Height: 18 in – We estimate Delta will be 20 inches when full grown. Spayed/Neutered: Delta is not spayed. Based on her overall health and condition she will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to spay her at your cost within 9 months and provide proof of spay. Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes – Delta requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Delta is an active, young dog. She is looking for a young, active family. Delta's ideal home has another dog in it. Puppies especially need LOTS of play and socialization. If you don't have another dog, you MUST have a plan for regular (4-5 days/week) play and socialization of at least an hour with another young dog. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANOTHER ACTIVE DOG IN YOUR HOME, PLEASE DESCRIBE IN YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION YOUR PLAN FOR PLAY AND SOCIALIZATION WITH A NEW PUPPY. Delta was rescued from a puppy mill. All she's ever known if life in a cage with too small quarters. Delta will be a great family pet. She'd love a home with kids. She's never been around cats, but is young and can be trained to be respectful. A person scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and can provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day and night is a must. Delta is a baby and needs play breaks as well as frequent and consistent potty times to aid in potty training.  What is my personality like? Delta is a soft, sensitive little puppy who is still learning what leashes, toys and cuddles are all about. She is a bit shy at first, but if you give her a moment and a yummy treat, she will be on your lap like it's her full-time job. She is a follower of her siblings and would love another canine sibling in the home to show her the ropes of being a beloved pet. She is full of love and energy and wants to spend all 24 hours of her days playing in the mud and frolicking in the grass! A true sweetheart with the softest heart. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Delta is a little timid when she first meets you. Bring treats and giver her 5 minutes and she'll show you her whole heart! Other tips and tidbits: Delta was estimated at 4 months old when she was taken into rescue. We celebrate her birthday 02/04/2025. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note – we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you – poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
