Doheny was found dumped on the side of the road with his siblings — a rough start, but you’d never guess it once you see that waggy tail. He’s still learning that people are safe and kind, so he might shake and be shy at first. Give him a few days, though, and he’ll blossom into a completely different dog. Doheny is amazing with kids — he doesn’t mind being scooped up and carried around like a baby, and he loves curling up in your lap for a good snuggle session. He’s got a playful side, too: chasing toys, playing fetch, and zooming around the yard are his favorite ways to show off just how fast those little legs can go. He’s got this adorable habit of rubbing his belly across the floor, and it never fails to get a laugh. This little guy is eager to please, gentle, and easygoing once he trusts you. He’s crate trained, leash ready, and does well with dogs, cats, and people of all ages. Doheny would be a sweet fit for a family who’ll give him the time and patience to build his confidence. Once he knows he’s home, you’ll have the most loyal, snuggly, playful buddy around. Doheny is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on July 12th and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am-1pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
