Name: Dorito          Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age:  7 years as of December 2025        SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:  5.3 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen Dorito with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter – needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Dorito is Looking For:  His forever home. No dog should end up in the shelter at seven years of age. Sometimes things happen that are beyond anyone’s control. But know what’s in our control? We promised him we’d get him an amazing new home. He’s up for sniffy walks (some dignity, please. This is not a dog who wants to be stuffed into a purse) and world exploration and so many snuggles.   Little dogs can live quite a while so he likely has many many many days of love and loyalty to give in exchange.
