Once she feels safe and settled, this little heart-stealer will show you just how much love and joy she has to give. You see, Dorothy came to us as a breeder release. At her age, that usually means she's overlooked for adoption—but we can't imagine why. With her adorable face and tender spirit, she’s simply irresistible. When you first meet her, Dorothy will likely be shy and uncomfortable. She tends to shut down in unfamiliar situations and won’t immediately reveal her true personality around strangers. But don’t be discouraged. Beneath that cautious exterior is a goofy, playful soul just waiting for her moment to shine. One of the ways her past still affects her is with leash walking. Right now, Dorothy is unable to walk on a leash unless she’s with another dog she feels safe and comfortable with. Her confidence grows when she has a trusted companion by her side to show her the way. When she begins to trust, watch out—her inner "teenage puppy" comes out in full force! It’s a beautiful transformation that takes patience, love, and understanding. But it’s absolutely worth it.
