See Duke – Every cowboy deserves a safe ranch’s HomepageGo to our official websiteHELP US SAVE DUKE! He needs a FOSTER, HOME, and any other social media help.  Also, if you are a good dog walker, please come to Chamblee and help us walk him! You will feel the love!! He is SO grateful for you. Background: Animal Control was called on this stray dog, Duke.  Clayton County and South Fulton are overwhelmed with abandoned and stray dogs. Animal Control facilities are overflowing with stressed, scared dogs — mostly pit bulls — facing rapid euthanasia  for space and STRESS, through no fault of their own. This sweet pit bull/boxer mix was seen living outside a church near Hartsfield Airport for over THREE WEEKS, that's near both counties, and the spot is surrounded by heavy traffic. Every day felt like it could have been his last. Kind people were feeding him until a compassionate woman was finally able to get him safely into her car.  Now Duke desperately needs a place to go to decompress, adjust, and become the wonderful pet he can be!!  A small rescue is trying to help him, but there are NO available fosters, and we do not him to go to Animal Control, where his chances are heartbreaking. Duke is only about 2 years old and is: &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Fully vetted &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Neutered &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Vaccinated &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Heartworm negative He is incredibly sweet and has HUGE potential. But like so many abandoned dogs, Duke is suffering from severe anxiety after being lost, abandoned, scared, and confused for so long. He cannot currently tolerate being crated or left alone. If isolated, he panics and may hurt himself trying to escape. However, when someone is with him, he settles and does well. He needs: • A quiet, stable environment • Someone experienced with anxious dogs • Time to decompress and feel safe • Consistent companionship and patience Right now, we can keep him safe in boarding with medication and space, but this is only temporary. We urgently need a knowledgeable foster, behavioral rescue, trainer, or experienced adopter willing to help guide Duke toward the life he deserves. Donations are available to support his care, decompression, training, boarding, and transition. We need a solid plan for Duke within the next week. Right now he is in temp boarding. Please help us save this boy’s life. Even sharing this post could connect Duke with the right person. Message us immediately if you can foster, rescue, train, sponsor, or help network Duke. All supplies provided, money for keeping him, and always a trial basis. If it is not a fit, we will come get him ASAP! NO obligation.   Email (Preferred): awhar09@gmail.com Call/Text Janet: 404-520-1060 Visit: www.awhar.org
