From her foster "Earline is a 3monthold smoke gray and white kitten with a charming whitetipped tail—like she dipped it in white paint. Her name comes from Earl (as in Earl Grey tea), and she’s every bit as bright, lively, and refreshing as her namesake.Earline’s story began on a heartbreaking note. She was one of five kittens brought to the county shelter at only about two weeks old. Kittens that young, when clean and wellfed, should still be with their mother—she is always the best caregiver. Bringing neonatal kittens into a shelter places an enormous burden on staff to find emergency bottlebaby fosters before the end of the workday, which is often nearly impossible. Without rescue intervention, euthanasia is frequently the outcome.Thankfully, Piedmont stepped in. Despite roundtheclock care and our very best efforts, only three of the five kittens survived. Earline was one of the fighters. Sadly, their mother is likely still out there, continuing to have kittens.Today, Earline is thriving—and she is a rowdy, wiry little bundle of fun! She loves to run, romp, and play hard with her foster siblings, trilling happily as they tumble through the house together. She would do best in a home with another kitten (or a young, playful cat) to wrestle, chase, and cuddle with.Because Earline was bottlefed, she’s very accustomed to people and enjoys human companionship. That said, she’s not one for long cuddle sessions in your arms—this girl has places to go and games to play! She’s a wiggler when held too long, preferring interactive play, toys, and kitten adventures.
