Hi! I’m Ely, and I am a cute little guy! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be myself. Litter: Ely, Ernie What the Shelter Says About Me: Ely is a confident young man in a sleek black coat with a unique feature in that he only has half a tail. How that happened is anybody’s guess, but he will wag it in delight when he gets pets and chin scratches – or sees the bearer of the food trays. Ely has been in our rescue’s Cat Room just a few short weeks and is still showing us his developing personality but all things seen thus far is a social boy who wants to be your next love bug. He is very receptive to humans that show up at his condo door. He lives with his brother and sister and gets along well with them, even allowing his kitty-sister to snuggle him during naps. At times Ely still wants to be the one that makes the first move to receive love and affection but once he greets you he is all in. He would love to be next in line for a chance at snuggling up in a home of his own. What My Foster Says About Me: For the first two days, Ely hid all day only coming out to drink water, eat, and use the box when I would leave the room. I could tell he was playing with toys because they would be in different places when I would come back and I could hear the jingle’ing through the door. On day 3, he started to interact with me. After his first head scratch, his walls came down and since then he has been a cute love bug. He definitely can be mischievous, he is a very curious boy who loves to play but he is the best boy at heart. His favorite toy is a long crinkly green snake. I do work long hours but I love that he can play with himself or Ernie, he can keep himself occupied. He loves cuddling with me when I’m sleeping or if I’m laying on the couch. He likes to lay on my chest and purr or sit in my lab when I’m working and purr. He doesn’t mind being picked up and getting kisses. He loves tummy rubs. He is not a picky eater and will in fact eat anything. One time I turned my head and found him licking my siggi yogurt!! He loves watching cat tv and bird watching outside. He uses the box well. He allowed me to cut his nails and didn’t put up any fight until I got to the last 3 toe beans. He gets along with my pets.
