Critter Details

Fred arrived at the shelter as a stray on 3/25 in rough shape, presenting with significant medical concerns including widespread alopecia, skin and ear infections, and eye issues with concern for entropion. Thanks to ongoing treatment, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s already made encouraging progress, but he will need continued medical care and monitoring to stay on track and fully recover.Through it all, Fred has remained a calm and cooperative companion. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s leash trained, appears housebroken, and knows basic cues like sit and paw. Volunteers consistently describe him as easygoing, affectionate, and gentle, especially when taking treats. He enjoys human attention and carries a relaxed, low-key demeanor that makes him easy to spend time with. Fred can be selective with dogs. Because of this, Fred will benefit from structured handling and thoughtful, well-managed introductions to other dogs moving forward.Fred is well on his way to brighter days. In the right setting, he has all the potential to truly thriveâ&#194&#128&#194&#148settling into a comfortable routine, continuing to heal, and becoming a loyal, loving companion for the people lucky enough to welcome him home.
