Freddie is a young, energetic pup (around 1 year old) who’s learning that the world can be a safe, happy place. He came to RSR from a local impound after being found as a stray. At first, he was extremely scared and shut down, but with patience and kindness, he’s blossomed into a loving little guy who just wants to be near his person. Now that Freddie’s in a foster home, his personality is shining through! Once he trusts you, he’s affectionate, playful, and full of life. He follows his foster mom everywhere and soaks up every bit of attention he can get. He’s still learning to feel comfortable around new people, especially men, so patience and gentle introductions are key. Visitors should let Freddie come to them first — a few treats go a long way in winning him over! Freddie is crate trained and keeps his space clean, though he’s still working on some house manners. He’s very responsive to gentle corrections and wants to please. He enjoys walks and being outside, but toys aren’t really his thing yet — he’s more about exploring and hanging out with his favorite human. Freddie does fine with his foster’s small senior dog but would do best in a home without cats (he thinks they’re for chasing!). Freddie would thrive in a calm, patient home that can give him time to adjust and build trust. He bonds deeply and will be an incredibly loyal companion once he knows he’s safe. Freddie’s Wish List: A patient adopter who understands shy dogs A quiet, stable home (no cats) Someone who enjoys walks and quality cuddle time Continued positive reinforcement training Lots of love and reassurance If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will reward your patience with endless devotion, Freddie might just be your perfect match! Frederick is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
