(DOB 05/11/2023) Gail is an intelligent, affectionate Malinois mix who thrives on structure, adventure, and connection. She forms deep bonds with her people and is the kind of dog who wants to truly be your partner in life. She loves being outdoors, whether it’s structured walks, car rides to new places, or soaking up the sunshine after a good play session. Tug-of-war is her specialty, and she’ll enthusiastically learn new skills for a high-value reward (cheese is her weakness). She’s wonderfully food-motivated and proudly sprints to her crate to sit and wait for meals — she genuinely enjoys routine and knowing what’s expected of her.Inside the home, Gail settles beautifully. After her physical and mental needs are met, she’s a total cuddle bug who’s happiest curled up near her person while you relax.Gail is incredibly smart and eager to work, which means she does best with a confident handler who appreciates a driven, working-breed mind. She has made great progress with her leash skills and will continue to thrive with consistent leadership and ongoing training. She enjoys learning, responds well to structure, and blossoms when given clear expectations. She enjoys playing with well-matched dog friends and could live with another balanced dog or be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. Because of her enthusiasm and strength, she’s best suited for a home with older teens or adults who understand shepherd-type breeds.Gail will thrive in a home that has prior working-breed experience, values training and engagement, and can provide regular physical exercise along with mental enrichment. A fenced yard is a bonus but not required — what she truly needs is partnership, guidance, and someone excited to continue building on the solid foundation she already has.If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent companion who wants to be your adventure buddy by day and your couch-side shadow by night, Gail may be your perfect match. As part of Gail’s $300 adoption fee, sheis spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Gail, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.
