Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.   and his sisters (HANSEL and WENDY) and tons of feline family members were saved from a horrific hoarding case in Riverside, California. We know they are all related because the horrible human woman, kept letting them mate. When the Rescue Mama found out she took action.  As of OCTOBER 2025, 86 cats have either gone to other rescues or have been saved by us. You will know who these cats are by their names. They have all been named after the show "Once Upon A Time". Aside from the necklaces the kitties wear i in their professional pictures, Rescue Mama names her rescue cats after shows she watches.    Meet GRETEL: The Sweet & Shy Tabby Ready for Her Fairy Tale Ending! Like her brother HANSEL, GRETEL was rescued from the backyard of a hoarder in Riverside, California. She's a little survivor who has put her rough start behind her and is now focusing on the best things in life: playtime, pets, and finding her forever family. A Glimpse into GRETEL's World GRETEL is an absolute sweetheart with a curious mind and an adorable spirit. She is incredibly friendly and loves interacting with her humans. She adores pets and will gladly accept all the affection you can give, often rolling over to show her trust and contentment. Her curiosity means no new box or cat toy goes unexplored for long! While she shares her brother's love for life, Gretel has her own unique style. She is a little shyer than Hansel initially, preferring a gentle introduction to new people and situations. But once she knows you're a friend, she blossoms into a playful, affectionate, and confident little girl. Play Hard, Love Harder! GRETEL is an energetic kitten who believes that playtime is serious business! She plays hard, chasing after string toys, pouncing on felt mice, and practicing her impressive parkour skills. Her ideal day includes several vigorous play sessions, a good meal, a long nap in a sunny spot, and quality cuddle time on the sofa. Because of her playful nature and need for feline companionship, Gretel has a special requirement: she needs a young, friendly feline companion at home. She is good with cats and has lived with dogs. We do not know how she interaction with them. She has never lived with children. Not a senior cat ****** ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4. Someone Will Call / Text to Do Phone Interview 5. Will be notified of Approved Application 6. Home Visit (WILL BE SCHEDULED) 7. Official Meet and Greet with Kitty 8. Sign Adoption Contract 9. Pay Adoption Fee (VENMO – ZELLE – PAYPAL or CASH) 10. Take the Kitty Home ********* MAY CONSIDER OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS NEAR CALIFORNIA BUT BE AWARE THAT WE WILL NOT SHIP. ADOPTER WILL NEED TO PICK UP********** VOLUNTEERS are the only ones allowed to let you meet the kitty. Not PETSMART employees.   Volunteers are usually at PetSmart between 9 am to 1 pm for cleaning ONLY. The cats currently at PETSMART you are allowed to go visit.  A good time to come visit is between 5 pm – 8 pm (Monday thru Saturday) and Sunday 3 pm – 6 pm. The VOLUNTEERS are only there in the evening for 3 hours so please call the PetSmart location, email us or visit the cattery for VISITING HOURS. Most days are different 3-hour shifts. It's based on volunteer availability and store hours. Store hours change with holidays. ******************* If you call the PETSMART location, please ask them to physically check the cattery door for the current week's VISITING HOURS. ****************** The cats/kittens at a foster/rescue home, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do the OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below:  ****Please note we only have cats physically in MURRIETA AND INDUSTY ONLY. But we can do meet and greets at all 4 locations below locations.**** PETSMART – 17651 Colima Rd, City Of Industry, California 91748 PETSMART – 2153 W Florida Ave, Hemet, California 92545 PETSMART – 25290 Madison Ave, Murrieta, California 92562 PETSMART – 34900 Monterey Ave, Palm Desert, California 92211 The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc…once the phone interview and home check have been done. Gas donations always appreciated! ************* Please no calls to the rescue. No one is available to take calls. ************ If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets. Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit…we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption. We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out….be patient. GRETEL is ALREADY fully vetted. The adoption fee of $200 covers:  Spay FVRCP shots RABIES shot FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative) Drontal Dewormer Stronghold Flea Control Microchip We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens.
