Griffon is so sweet. He loves attention and "giving hugs". He's great with other dogs and loves to run and play. A backyard would be very important for this guy so that he can play and exercise. A fence isn't required, but would be a definite asset for this sweet boy in order to let him out to play. You need to understand the Great Pyrenees breed. If you haven't researched it, you need to. They were bred to be guardians of livestock. In order to be good guard dogs, they were bred to be independent thinkers, which translates into being somewhat stubborn sometimes. It would be a good thing to take an obedience training class with Griffon in order for you to learn to be "pack leader". Great Pyrenees have a wonderful calm temperament that makes it a great family dog, good with kids. Because he is so big, it's tempting to let children roll all over a big dog. That isn't fair to the dog. Become aware of your large dog's cues and don't allow children to mistreat them. Griffon is very intelligent, so he would be easy to train. He's crate trained and house trained. Another thing you need to be aware of with Great Pyrenees dogs is their beautiful thick coat that requires routine brushing a couple of times a week to keep it from becoming matted. ~Adoption donation $400 .
