Hamilton is a large, brown and white Shepherd mix whose quiet presence, and soulful eyes tell a story of patience and resilience and love waiting to bloom. Though he can be very shy at first Hamilton has blossomed into an amazing companion once he feels safe and becomes a truly gentle giant who forms deep bonds with his people. Hamilton is five years old and weighs about 65 pounds. He has a short coat and a calm and steady demeanor that makes him a wonderful match for a peaceful home environment. He is low energy overall, but he still benefits from regular exercise and engagement to help him stay confident and happy. Hamilton is fully house trained, and leash trained. He is currently working on his crate training. Hamilton does well with other dogs and with children. His experience with cats is currently unknown. Because of his shy nature Hamilton is looking for an adopter who can offer him patience and structure and plenty of exercise and lots of love. When Hamilton feels comfortable his affectionate side truly shines. He loves hard chew toys and tasty treats and enjoys being outside and never turns down belly rubs. He appreciates constant attention from his trusted humans and already knows basic commands which makes him a rewarding companion for someone willing to continue guiding him with kindness and consistency. If you are searching for a loyal and soft-hearted dog who will quietly steal your heart and thrive with the right guidance, then Hamilton may be the perfect addition to your family.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Hamilton is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
