Meet Hamm!Hamm’s story starts in Texas, where he was found as a stray and taken in by one of our rescue partners. He was shy, unsure, and a little lost — but the moment he realized food and cuddles were on the table, the real Hamm started to shine. He spent several weeks in a Texas foster home surrounded by dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities — from bossy Chihuahuas to bouncy Labs — and he handled it all beautifully. He’s now being fostered in Massachusetts with one other dog and continues to do great. Hamm genuinely enjoys canine company, but he doesn’t need another dog to thrive. He’s just as happy being the center of attention on his own.Cats, however, are another story. He’ll chase them for fun, and then immediately regret his life choices the moment they turn around. He means no harm, but it’s safe to say he’s more “cat curious” than “cat compatible.”At about 1.5 years old and 28 pounds, this compact little French Bulldog is equal parts comedian and cuddle enthusiast. He loves people and believes laps are for lounging. He’s crate trained with zero issues, and while he’s doing great with potty training, he can have the occasional accident if he’s not on a consistent schedule — pretty typical for his age.Hamm had cherry eye surgery, which went perfectly, and he’s fully recovered. He’s healthy, happy, and finally living the kind of life he always deserved.Hamm would do best in a home without small children — not because he’s reactive, but because he’s a sensitive boy who thrives in a calm, steady environment. What he really wants is a family that will snuggle, laugh, and love him through his goofy moments. If you’re looking for a funny, affectionate, slightly dramatic sidekick, Hamm might just be your guy.Breed experience is required. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ:    •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.    •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.    •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
