See Harley – Gentle Giant – ASAP Foster/Perm. Home’s HomepageGo to our official website HARLEY  is a stunning huge Maine Coon mix weighing over 20 pounds and loves to be petted! He is a majestic boy with a heart as big as his paws. His life started in Lilburn as a small stray kitten, but he was lucky to find a loving home in Lawrenceville with a devoted husband and wife who adored him. Sadly, Harley’s world turned upside down when both of his beloved humans passed  — the wife first last year, followed by the husband just four months ago. After their passing, Harley was left in the care of a house roommate who rented from the husband (a substance abuser) who, tragically, confined him to a single room for three long months. Isolated and grieving, Harley became traumatized. His majestic long hair is matted to the skin and he gained weight! Thankfully, we were able to bring Harley into our rescue. He is slowly coming out of his shell and adjusting. We are getting him updated on his vet work this week, and will address his matted hair! OMG! Poor guy! He is incredibly sweet — truly a doll — and with a calm, patient environment, we know he’ll blossom back into the confident, affectionate companion he once was.  Harley will be fully vetted before adoption, including: Comprehensive wellness exam  Updated vaccinations (only two months out of date now! GOOD!) Blood work to ensure his health Grooming to remove the huge mats.  We are searching for a quiet, loving FOSTER OR PERM home where Harley can feel safe and decompress. Ideally, his new family will have experience with cats, especially sensitive souls like Harley, and patience and compassion. He lived with another cat, but not dogs. Given his recent past, we are looking for a quiet home with no dogs, and only another calm cat, or no pets, and definitely a human that is home some to pet and work with him!
