Critter Details

Haze is a 7mo old male malinois X german shepherd mix. He is heartworm negative and very very sweet. He and his 4 other siblings lived outside in a very badly maintained dog run with their mother. The father was a malinois that jumped the fence. The mother is a malinois GSD mix.  These pups were left outside and barely fed or cared for so they are all starved for attention. Within the first week Haze has learned out to ride beautifully in a car (crate). He sleeps throughout the night in a wire crate and never utters a single word. Initially he was very scared of everything, as he spent his entire short life in a backyard with little human contact. He is fostered with a neutered male malinois and neutered great pyrenees and gets along fine with them. He respects their boundaries when they do not want him near them, which is frequent.  He has learned to now run up/down steps and started playing with toys. He is very good at fetching, but only for a few throws because there are plenty of other things to discover in this very new world.  He has an interesting way of communicating when he is frightened. It sort of sounds like a friendly velociraptor.  Haye has learned not to jump on people, but continues to simply want to be near you to receive hugs and pets. He has itchy skin (not mange) and with good food, no stress and a few medicated baths will look like the beautiful handsome boy that we already see.  What Haze needs is a gentle hand and someone that will take the time to show him the world. He doesn't have much prey drive, so we suspect cats and small children would do fine with him/with proper supervision initially. If there are house dogs, he would do better with one that is not over the top. At this point he is 1 week into foster care and is working on just decompressing and learning how to be a dog.  He is going on outings and adventures with the other dogs so he learns to be a brave boy as he discovers this world.  All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and one-year subscription. If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic. ***********************************************************************We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location.
