HEATHER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Heather and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (10/25) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)!   Name:   Heather        Best Guess for Breed:   Lab mix   Best Guess for Age:   2 years, 3 months as of Oct. 2025        SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   46 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area boarding facility   Special adoption considerations:    Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Heather would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Heather is Looking For:    Meet Heather, a sweet 2-year-old Lab mix with a soft tan coat and a heart to match. This medium-sized girl has the perfect blend of playful energy and gentle affection. She’s the kind of dog who brightens every day—happy to tag along on adventures or just curl up beside you when it’s time to relax. Heather will make a wonderful addition to just about any home. What My Foster Says About Me:     She enjoys slow, sniffy strolls, stays calm around people, kids, and other dogs, and shows curiosity without being reactive. While she’s still a bit startled by loud noises, she recovers quickly and loves exploring and observing the world around her. She’s gaining confidence in her new environment and adjusting very well! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
