Meet Honey Doo Honey Doo is a 3-year-old Goldendoodle with a soft, curly golden coat and expressive black eyes. Weighing approximately 21 pounds, she is the perfect size for cuddling on the couch or accompanying her family on outdoor adventures. Her affectionate, calm, and loyal nature makes her an ideal companion for people of all ages. Personality and Temperament Honey Doo embodies the classic Goldendoodle personality—she is social, gentle, and loving. These traits make the breed excellent for families with children and other pets. Honey Doo greets her foster family and guests with exuberant enthusiasm, wagging her very long tail to show her happiness, even when meeting someone for the first time. She thrives on companionship and is happiest when she is with her human family members. If there is a dog bed in the same room as her person, Honey Doo will quickly claim it. Whether napping during her foster mom’s online meetings or cuddling up to her foster human sister in bed, Honey Doo proves herself to be a devoted and comforting presence. Her social spirit was evident during a recent Friendsgiving at her foster home, where she charmed a group of 10 teenage girls, making sure to greet and get to know each one. And Honey Doo likes going out to dog-friendly restaurants – she just sits calmly while her foster parents eat their meal content to be with them wherever they go. She even likes to participate in her foster mom’s exercise routines, staying as close as possible and offering her own brand of “assistance.” Though she sometimes appears puzzled by treadmill or stationary bike workouts where the foster mother’s feet move but her body does not. Training and Care Honey Doo is a quick learner who knows basic commands such as "sit," "stay," and "come." She is eager to please, and in return, she gets to enjoy walks and lap time with her humans. She will roll over for belly rubs and, when petted in her favorite spot, will smile and raise her leg in delight. Her Goldendoodle heritage means she is highly trainable and responsive to gentle guidance; however, regular grooming is essential due to her poodle lineage to prevent hair matting. Known for forming strong bonds with their owners, Goldendoodles are sensitive dogs. Honey Doo responds best to soft voices and gentle discipline, as noted by her foster family. She had a few potty accidents in the foster home but is learning to communicate better about when she needs to go outside. The adopter will need to continue to work with her pointing out where to go potties. Her deep attachment to people means she experiences separation anxiety when left alone—she will bark if crated or pace if left in the living room. Her foster family is actively working to help her feel more secure, and her future adopter will need to continue providing reassurance and support. 4 Lucky Dogs recommends Honey Doo live in a single-family house because her barking can get somewhat loud which will happen at the beginning of being in her new home until she is completely comfortable. Her Ideal Home Honey Doo would flourish with a family where she receives plenty of attention and companionship. With young children she sometimes gets jealous when parents divide their time between her and the child but Honey Doo loves older children since she can get petted or play with them. Also 4 Lucky Dogs found out that Honey Doo likes dogs and cats but does not like farm animals especially chickens. With an average lifespan of 15 years for her breed, her adopter should be prepared for a long-term commitment, ensuring Honey Doo remains in a stable, loving environment for the rest of her life—approximately 12 more years. Adoption Details Honey Doo’s adoption fee is $620. She comes up to date on all necessary vaccines and rabies shots, is heartworm tested as negative, microchipped, and spayed. She is currently being fostered in the Plant City/Tampa, Florida area.
