Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue SWEET AND CALM Meow! My name is Hope. My estimated date of birth is 4/17/2017. I am a sweet senior girl who the volunteers here say I look like a big pillow or a marshmallow! I am calm, relaxed, and enjoy lounging in my bed. I am very gentle and quiet. I like to be gently petted and softly spoken to. When I originally came into the rescue, I refused to let anyone pet me. I would duck my head away or run to the back of my cage. Now, while I won't seek out attention, I allow people–even people I barely know–to pet me, as long as they are gentle. I can take time to warm up to people, and my personality blossoms the more time you spend with me. I had some urinary-related issues, including bladder stones that were removed, that caused me to have potty accidents in my former home. Now that I'm feeling better, my litterbox manners have greatly improved and I'm no longer having accidents! I am on a special diet at the rescue (C/D urinary dry food) and the shelter would recommend that you continue this diet in my new home. I do not like wet food (it's just not my thing!). I am good with other cats, although I prefer cats who don't try to force me to play with them. Young children and dogs make me nervous, so I would do best in a home without them. I am at the Kitty Corner, come and meet me!Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg – Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family!  Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm.  All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Please note that while we work hard to keep our available cats up to date we also have many  that are not posted yet.  Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives.  No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so).  We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it.   We are always in need of donations to help us continue to save hundreds of cats and kittens every year.  Visit bit.ly/DonateFLR for more info.
