Hughie is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves being close to his people. He’s the kind of dog who wants to sit beside you or nap right next to you, soaking up all the love he can get. Hughie is gentle, even-tempered, and has an easygoing personality that makes him a wonderful companion. He’s partly potty trained but if a doggy door is available he uses it like a pro and is also leash trained. Hughie enjoys playing fetch, is eager to please, and has a playful, goofy side that keeps things fun. He’s smart and affectionate, making it easy for him to bond with his family. Hughie would likely do well in a home wtih someone who is home often. He hasn't been introduced to kids in his Texas foster home yet, but he loves people and will likely love children as well (slow introductions are always important). He’s happiest when he’s part of the action, spending time with his people, and getting the attention and love he deserves. Hughie is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 12/6/2025and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 4:30pm and 8pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
