Name: Ivy          Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix Best Guess for Age:   6 months as of November 2025          SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  26 lbs as of August 2025 – she is still growing and we will get an updated weight!   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  Puerto Rico shelter – needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Special adoption considerations:  Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Ivy would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Ivy is Looking For: Ivy is a sato – a dog from Puerto Rico. She’s eager to get her forever family in the DC area. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures her new humans can dream up – yes, please! Burning all that awesome young-dog energy while exploring her new area and playing with pup pals are high on her wish list. But right at the top is knowing she’s safe and loved, where she belongs.
