Hi, I'm Jaqueline and here is some info about me:Breed: Ibizian hound/Canaan Dog mixAge: 1-1/2 yrsGender: Female Weight: 14 kg Height: tbdCountry of origin: UAEHighlights: loving, gentle, quiet, playfulAside from having absolutely elegant lines, I am a gentle and friendly girl.Rescued from the streets of the United Arab Emirates, struggling to survive in a workshop in the industrial area, not only was I cold, coated in machinery oil, and clinging to life, but just two days earlier I had given birth beneath a semi truck. I was doing everything I could to shield my newborns from a world that had never shown me kindness. I was starving, shivering and purely in survival mode. Ten tiny lives depended on me. I tried to protect them, didn’t sleep—I just prayed for morning and tried to find food. And then, finally… help came. They took me and all my babies from the cruel and lonely streets for a second chance. Seven of my babies survived, sadly two passed away. My pups are all beautiful and sweet just like me. Finding homes in my country is hard. 2 of my babies have found homes, the others are waiting, as well as me.I am quiet by nature, gentle with other dogs, and I melt for kind humans.I adore soft toys… maybe because I never had one when I was little and I carry them around like treasures. I am still learning to be in a home after only knowing the cruel streets, so I do need patience. I need to work on leash training with a secure harness to feel safe on walks, as where I lived was full of semi trucks speeding and very scary, so I do need someone to be patient with me while I learn my world around me. Everything is still new to me and I have led a very tough life at my young age and being a young mom.Sometimes I sit quietly and watch the world, wondering if there’s a place in it for a dog like me.I dream of a home filled with love and safety and a promise I’ll never be left behind. I can be the only dog in a home or share my home with others. I am happy to cuddle and play with toys and enrichment activities. Hanging out in a cozy bed or a nice garden to run around in would be great.Very loving girl will travel. I am ready to give my whole heart to you.Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yes.Cats: unknown, rescuer states she lives with one, but no video proof.Kids: unknown, rescuer states ok, but no video proof.Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training:Leash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: partially, occasional accidents. Please help me continue to learn!Health notes: I have not yet been spayed/neutered, but I am vaccinated and microchipped. LAL will pay for my spaying & a microchip at one of our vets.My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in – at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 – $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests – which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis.
