Good day. My name is JAMES and here is a little info about me:Breed: Ibizian Hound/Canaan Dog mixAge: 5 monthsGender: maleWeight: 8 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: UAEHighlight(s): inteligent, observant, people-focused, sweet, socialI’m the brainy pup of the pack—and proud of it! Ever the observant boy, ready to learn.Rescued from the streets of the United Arab Emirates, my mama, Jacqueline (also posted) was struggling to survive in a workshop in the industrial area. Cold, coated in machinery oil, and clinging to life, she had just two days earlier given birth beneath a semi truck. She was doing everything she could to shield us newborns from a world that had never shown her kindness. She was starving, shivering and purely in survival mode. Ten tiny lives depended on her. She tried to protect us, didn’t sleep— just prayed for morning and tried to find food. And then, finally… help came. They took mama and all us babies from the cruel and lonely streets for a second chance. Seven of us survived, sadly two of my siblings passed away. We are all beautiful and sweet just like our mama. Finding homes in my country is hard. 2 of my siblings have found homes, the rest of us are waiting.I love learning new things, especially when there’s a yummy treat waiting at the end (food is my love language), so very food motivated. But I love people just as much as food. I am good with other doggies and also play with the resident cat (though no video proof.) I haven’t met children yet, but my two already adopted siblings are in homes with kids and do great, I'm sure I will also.Listening closely when you talk to me— I will tilt my head, perk up my ears, and try my very best to understand.I want to make you happy. Whether it’s learning a new trick, cuddling on the couch, or just being your little shadow, I’m always ready to be your best friend. I do need to work on leash training and still perfecting house training, but once in a home it will go quick. (I live with my siblings and it’s hard, but I use the tray like a good boy.)I am like any puppy who just needs to perfect a few things, all I need is patience and lots of positive reinforcement… and treats of course. If you're looking for a sweet, smart, people-loving pup who listens with his heart… I'm your guy. With love and a wag, awaiting your call.Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no videoKids: unknown, likely, as I am a puppy yet, no video proofFears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: no. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: in progress. Please help me learn!Health notes:I am too young yet to be spayed/neutered, but I am vaccinated. Spay/neuter will be the responsibility of the adopter and is required for my adoption to be finalized. LAL will pay for a microchip. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in – at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 – $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.
